The Story of Emily & Frank

Being disabled has many challenges including dating.  I met Frank through a dear friend that we both knew who raised puppies for the service dog organization, Canine Companions for Independence.   For our first date  he brought a rose for me and our friend and I thought that was very sweet.

After 9 months of dating, Frank asked me to be his bride and I ecstatically said yes!  My service dog, Carmel held the ‘here comes the bride’ sign and Frank’s 1st service dog, Bastien was our adorable ring bearer!

I’ve said in a few interviews that Frank is the kindest man I know, and he truly is.   He makes me laugh and makes me the happiest I’ve ever been.  I’m honored to be his bride of 3 years in October.  They say time flies when you’re having fun, and I can gratefully attest to that!

One of my surprise wedding gifts to Frank was to record “At Last” by Etta James, a jazz standard.  I couldn’t get into a studio, so I hired a producer and we recorded it in my bathroom because of the tiles and great acoustics.  Below is the audio, and Frank added the pictures of our engagement and wedding.  I hope you enjoy, and thanks for reading and watching!
